Mitchell Charlesworth has bolstered the division to help drive growth by offering a wider range of services.

Neil Martin joins from PKF as head of financial planning, while Sarah Godfree is the new office manager.

Mr Martin has spent more than 30 years in the financial services industry and has experience in advising both corporate and individual clients on all aspects of financial planning. His experience includes dealing with medium and large owner-managed businesses.

Miss Godfree, a qualified paraplanner, has been drafted in to elevate customer service and improve in-house systems and procedures.

David Darlington, the firm's managing partner, said: "The arrival of Neil and Sarah will hugely strengthen our wealth management division. They bring an array of skills. We hope these new appointments will be twinned with considerable growth in the wealth management sector.

"I am extremely confident this will bolster an already strong division focused on delivering comprehensive packages to protect and enhance wealth."

Mr Darlington said the appointments were needed ahead of major reform to the regulation of retail investment advice.

Mr Martin said that Mitchell Charlesworth offers the full gamut of independent financial advice to its clients, which include high net worth individuals, SMEs, as well as sports clubs, charities and housing associations.
