Congratulations to Liverpool's Society of Chartered Accountants - Today Awarded Freedom of the City of Liverpool


Mitchell Charlesworth would like to extend sincere congratulations to Liverpool's Society of Chartered Accountants which has today been honoured with the Freedom of the City of Liverpool.

Liverpool ICAEW Many of Mitchell Charlesworth's Partners and employees are current members of the ICAEW based in Liverpool. This evening the Liverpool Society of Chartered Accountants will be added to the Freedom Roll of Association and Institutions of the City of Liverpool.

The Liverpool Society of Chartered Accountants is the oldest Society of Chartered Accountants in the country, having been formed in 1870 and is said to be the forerunner of the current Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Liverpool's Lord Mayor, Councillor Frank Prendergast said:  "As Liverpool continues to flourish and thrive it is essential that the LSCA members continue to play a vital and proud part in our city's history. It is a pleasure to be granting them the Freedom of the City of Liverpool to reward them for their contribution to the financial wellbeing of the city."

Martyn Best, the 118th President of the Liverpool Society of Chartered Accountants, said: "The Liverpool Society of Chartered Accountants is the oldest district society of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales and we are deeply honoured to have been awarded the Freedom of the City of Liverpool.

"The Liverpool Society of Chartered Accountants strives to uphold these values and will continue to play a key role in supporting the business and financial community in our fine city."
