National Minimum Wage to Increase from 2013


Employers should be aware that the national minimum wage will increase in October 2013.

The Government, acting on recommendations of the Low Pay Commission, confirmed that the national minimum wage is to rise as follows:

  • Adults - by 12p an hour to £6.31 per hour
  • 16-17 year olds - by 4p to £3.72 per hour
  • 18-20 year olds - by 5p to £5.03 per hour
  • Apprentices - by 3p to £2.68 per hour
