Seminar - Housing in challenging times

20th November 2009, LACE Conference Centre, Croxteth Drive, Sefton Park, Liverpool

With increasing demand on a limited supply of affordable social housing stock, diminishing borrowing opportunities and a construction industry in decline, the current challenges facing the Social Housing Sector are formidable. As the economy contracts and unemployment increases, demand seems set to continue to rise and supply seems set to fall short.

With this in mind Mitchell Charlesworth and Brabners Chaffe Street are holding a morning seminar to discuss the challenging times facing housing associations. Eric Armitage, Former Deputy Chair of the Housing Corporation, will Chair the event and help unravel what difficulties exist and how to help overcome them.

Our Key Note speaker, Stephanie Fleck from the Tenant Services Authority, will discuss Regulation in the new world from the TSA’s perspective including issues such as new regulatory powers, financial regulation, consultation, how will it work in practice and how regulation is going to be implemented.

Representatives from Mitchell Charlesworth and Brabners Chaffe Street along with selected external speakers will also present a series of workshops.

Please see the links for a programme for the day and an outline of the workshops. If you or any of your colleagues would like to attend please complete the booking form indicating which two workshops you would like to attend.
