Date: 3 August 2006
NORTH West-based Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors Mitchell Charlesworth has launched an in-house VAT facility following a new senior appointment.
Colin Corder, 37, from Maghull, joins as VAT manager from the Liverpool office of Baker Tilly, where he spent five years as an assistant VAT manager.
The father-of-two has specialised in VAT for more than 20 years since he first joined the Customs & Excise in Liverpool in 1986. He was promoted to a VAT inspector in 1990 and spent 11 years in the department before leaving to join big four accountancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers in Manchester.
He said: “After 20 years in VAT working for national organisations and practices this is a great opportunity, and a challenge, for me to create a brand new service for Mitchell Charlesworth.”
Colin will provide VAT services for all Mitchell Charlesworth’s five offices in Liverpool, Manchester, Chester, Warrington and Widnes.
Mitchell Charlesworth partner, Paul Wainwright, added: “This is a very exciting development for Mitchell Charlesworth to create a brand new in-house VAT facility which will match the services provided by much larger national practices.
“Mitchell Charlesworth has always been committed to investing in new talent and Colin has vast experience and knowledge in his field and I am sure he will become a real asset to both the firm and our clients.”
