Changing times for housing associations

A SEMINAR tackling the challenges faced by housing associations today is being staged by a North West firm of chartered accountants and business advisors.

Accountants Mitchell Charlesworth, which is nationally recognised for its work with housing associations, is staging the event with Liverpool law firm Bremners at the LACE Conference Centre, Croxteth Drive, Sefton Park, Liverpool, on Tuesday, May 22.

The key note speaker will be Max Steinberg, chief executive of Elevate East Lancashire, who will discuss the changing times for housing associations and his experiences of his involvement with one of the local Pathfinder organisations.

Mitchell Charlesworth will cover current accounting issues, such as VAT, tax issues and SORP, while Bremners will address recent developments in housing management law and age discrimination.

Several workshops will also cover topics such as anti-social behaviour, planning and low cost ownership.
