Accountants society stages annual dinner

CHESTER and North Wales Society of Chartered Accountants staged its 59th annual dinner, which was attended by some of the areas best known accountants and dignitaries.

More than 250 members and guests enjoyed the annual event, which was staged at the Grosvenor Hotel in Chester.

Special guests included the Sheriff of Chester, David Hughes, and Ian Morris, immediate past president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, who also spoke at the event.

Other guest speakers included Jon Mathias, chairman of Chester and North Wales Society of Chartered Accountants and a consultant at Mitchell Charlesworth Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors; and professional speaker John Simonett, a former Rugby Union player for Gloucester and Scotland.

The society, which is a branch of the Liverpool Society of Chartered Accountants, was established in 1948 and today has more than 1,300 members.
