Agency has designs for growth
Date: 26 June 2007
A LIVERPOOL-based design agency which has more than doubled in size over the last three years has unveiled its latest expansion plans.
Bolland & Lowe, based at the Vanilla Factory on Fleet Street, has seen turnover more than double in the last two years and has recently added several big name clients to its portfolio.
North West Chartered Accountants Mitchell Charlesworth were called in three years ago to put together a strategic plan and provide business advice for the company, which is now planning to increase turnover by up to 20 per cent and recruit more staff.
And to cap a successful period of growth Bolland & Lowe has recently won two re-branding and marketing contracts for the Beatles Story and the Albert Dock in Liverpool.
John Lowe, joint managing director and co-founder, said: “Business is going extremely well and we have exceeded all our expectations. It has been a very exciting time for us seeing the business blossom into what it is today.
“We achieved our original targets much quicker than we planned and now with Mitchell Charlesworth’s help we are now looking to move on to the next phase and expand the business to the next level.”
Bolland & Lowe was established by John Lowe and Joe Bolland in March 2003 after they met at another design agency in Liverpool.
The pair started their own business in a bedroom at John Lowe’s home in Oxton, Wirral. Today the business employs seven staff and its clients include National Museums Liverpool, Aldi stores and FHM magazine.
Paul Durrance, from Mitchell Charlesworth, added: “Bolland & Lowe was a small but ambitious consultancy which has grown rapidly in recent years to realise its potential. With the business experience they’ve gained in recent years and their design talent they are now in a perfect position to drive the business forward on to the next level.”
