Tax Dates in Brief: Dates for your Diary 2015/16

Mitchell Charlesworth has produced a list of all the key tax related dates for your diary for the next three months. If you would like to discuss your tax liabilities and meeting your business obligations, please get in touch with your usual contact or a member of our specialist tax team.

  • 5 October: Deadline to notify chargeability for Income Tax/Capital Gains Tax for 2014-15 if not registered for Self Assessment. Complete form CWF1 for self-employment or form SA1 for non self-employed income, or form SA401 for partners.
  • 19/22 October: Quarterly PAYE/NICs payment deadlines for year ended 5 October 2015.
  • 31 October: Midnight deadline for paper submission of Self Assessment tax returns for tax year ended 5 April 2015 to be received by HMRC.
  • 30 December: Deadline for online submission of Self Assessment tax returns for tax year ended 5 April 2015 for HMRC to collect tax through clients’ PAYE codes, where they owe less than £3,000.
  • 19/22 January: Quarterly PAYE/NICs payment deadlines for year ended 1 January 2016.
  • 31 January: Deadline for online submission of Self Assessment tax returns for tax year ended 5 April 2015.
  • 31 January: Deadline for paying Self Assessment ‘balancing payments’ for tax year ended 5 April 2015.
  • 31 January: Deadline for first Self Assessment payment on account for tax year ending 5 April 2016.
  • Corporation Tax payments are due nine months and one day following your financial year end. For example, if year end is 31 December 2015, any Corporation Tax owed must be paid by 1 October 2016
