VAT

Having to complete and submit VAT returns and deal with the VAT Office is a fact of life for most businesses.  However, this increasingly complex area of tax could cost a business dearly if VAT issues are not resolved or VAT saving opportunities are missed.  We have a dedicated VAT team who are experienced in highlighting potential VAT problems and identifying VAT saving opportunities.

How we achieve success for our clients

We can carry out a free, no obligation, initial review of your VAT to establish whether any areas of complexity exist which may have resulted in an under or over payment of VAT.  If your business is involved in any of the following a VAT review may prove beneficial as it may be possible to reduce your tax burden.

  1. Commercial or domestic property purchase, sale, development or construction.
  2. Receive grant or other outside the scope income.
  3. Partially exempt.
  4. Have cash flow problems.
  5. Make or receive supplies from abroad.
  6. Received assessments or default surcharges from HM Revenue and Customs.

VAT Advice

We also offer advice specific to your businesses needs and can answer any of your VAT questions and resolve potential VAT problems.  Dealing direct with HM Revenue and Customs is proving increasingly difficult, we are experienced in obtaining ruling, submitting voluntary disclosures and options to tax and liaising with VAT Inspectors.

Current Awareness

The VAT rules are fast changing and following updates in legislation and case law developments can be complex and time consuming.  We can ensure your business is informed of any changes which may effect how you account for VAT.  In some circumstances changes can be retrospective and opportunities present themselves for refunds of VAT.
