Webinar: Academisation - What you need to know! | 16 June 2022
Mitchell Charlesworth together with ECM Education Consultants would be delighted if you could join them on Thursday 16 June for their Academisation webinar.
The Schools Bill, which was published today (12 May) confirms plans set out in the Schools White Paper “Opportunities for All” for all schools to be part of a “family of schools in a strong trust to level up school standards”, meaning schools must either be part of a multi-academy trust (MAT) or in the process of joining one by 2030.
Whilst eight years seems a long way off, it is clear that headteachers, chairs and governors must now focus their attention on this complex issue sooner rather than later, to ensure that they form or join a trust with other schools of similar values, ethos and cultures as theirs.
Hosted by Alex Makinson, a partner in Mitchell Charlesworth’s specialist Academies Team, together with Phil Choi of ECM Education Consultants, this session will provide an overview of what schools need to do to prepare for the changes ahead and what they need to know before joining a trust.
This free-to-attend webinar is suitable for schools who have not yet converted to academy status, including their CEOs, CFOs, Trustees, Head Teachers, School Business Managers and Bursars.
- Converting to academy status and the financial impact
- Financial reporting requirements for MATs
- What is top-slicing, GAG pooling and centralisation?
- What are the pension scheme liabilities?
- What due diligence should be undertaken on the trust/school to be joined/merged with?
- Systems, software and reports.
