Mitchell Charlesworth is announcing a new promotion after continued growth, which also saw the North West based chartered accountants and business advisors rise 7 places in the annual Accountancy Age Top 50+50 survey.
Heather Townsend has been promoted to a managerial role at the St Nicholas Street firm following years of committed service.
Mitchell Charlesworth Chester-based partner and chairman Rob Hall said the move comes after the firm recorded an increase in client fees between April 2015 and April 2016.
“We are delighted with her progression as she continues to diligently build her career. A recent increase in business has seen the Chester office requiring greater support within its senior team. Heather is skilled, experienced and well equipped for the challenge. She will now join two other senior managers helping train and manage other colleagues. Heather will be further supported by myself and two other senior partners Marlon Armstrong and Tim Adcock.
“This will see Heather taking on larger client delivery responsibilities as we continue to drive momentum and push for further growth,” added Mr Hall. “Heather has broad experience supporting SMEs, owner-managed business and audit work. She has also found a niche within the law sector working on behalf of solicitors and legal practices which remains a target area for the firm.”
Miss Townsend joined Mitchell Charlesworth in 2007.
“It’s been highly enjoyable developing my career at Mitchell Charlesworth which has a clear identity and a strong regional presence in the North West.” said Miss Townsend. “One of our key selling points is the ability to give clients greater value for money in terms of range and depth of specialist advice, compared to any regional competitor. I have no doubt that this is due to the expertise within our team.
“The firm’s broad reach across the region has provided exposure to a varied client base, including SMEs operating across Europe, supporting areas such as incorporation and commencement of trade, through to handling management information. I also have experience helping firms register for VAT and subsequent compliance, as well as the production of year end accounts and corporation tax returns.
“My experience over the last ten years has also involved special attention to professional practices. This sector has experienced significant change in recent years and I have been exercised by providing guidance to make the impact as low as possible for our clients. Key clients include barristers, lawyers, medical practices, estate agents, accountants, chartered surveyors and architects. I now look forward to taking even greater responsibility delivering a full range of specialist services, from compliance and strategic advice to business transformation.”
