Paul Richards raises over £3k for charity Stick 'n' Step by running London Marathon

Paul Richards, an associate at Mitchell Charlesworth’s Widnes office, took part in the 26.2 mile challenge for the first time on Sunday 28 April and has raised over £3,000 for cerebral palsy charity Stick ‘n’ Step.

Stick ‘n’ Step offers support services to children with cerebral palsy and their families. The charity provides the children with totally free of charge conductive education sessions, allowing them to gain the skills they need to live independent lives. 94 children from across the region attend these sessions weekly or twice weekly at the charity’s Wallasey and Runcorn centres. The organisation is completely independent and receives all of its funding from the generosity of local people, communities, businesses and grant making trusts.

Paul chose to run for Stick ‘n’ Step as his son, Alfie, aged 9, has cerebral palsy and regularly attends the charity’s conductive education sessions. Paul said: “I am hoping to raise money for a charity which is very close to my heart. Stick ‘n’ Step provides conductive education to children with cerebral palsy, maximising independence for each and every child. I cannot describe how amazing the charity is and the fantastic support they provide to Alfie and our family and many other families in the North West.”

Amy Couture, CEO of Stick ‘n’ Step comments: “It always means such a lot to us when families of our children get involved in fundraising. We wish Paul the very best for his training and we are looking forward to cheering for him on the day.”
